The Talking Bible PRIVACY POLICY
The Bible App designed for the Visually Impaired
"The Talking Bible" does not sell or share your information. Here is exactly what the app sends from your device.
Connection: when the app starts it connects to our server and sends a random identifier for this installation, the device model, the operating system and the app version. This is how we know the app is working. It is not tied to your name.
Anonymous usage data (you can turn this off in the app's Privacy Policy page): each time you use a feature, the app sends the name of the feature, whether it worked, how long it took, whether you spoke, typed or used a menu, and the text of the command you spoke or typed, such as a search or a scripture request. It is tied to a random identifier for this installation, not to your name.
If you turn usage data off, your search and command history on this device is deleted, the usage data already held on our server for this installation is deleted, and no usage data is sent or kept from then on. The app still makes the connection described above.
Crash reports (you can turn this off in the app's Privacy Policy page): if the app crashes or hits an error, technical information about where it happened is sent so we can fix it in a future release. It can include the command that was being processed at the time.
Spoken audio: to read scripture and answers aloud, the text to be spoken is sent to an online text-to-speech service and turned into audio. This cannot be turned off.
